What kind of service do I need?
CHC Home Inspection offers multiple inspection types, which can leave you with questions if you are booking online by yourself. You can always call us to talk to our team about what each service entails, your budget, and your specialized needs- but here is a general explanation of each.
When you order or quote an inspection with us, you may be asked if you’d like additional options added onto your inspection such as a radon test, termite inspection for example. This is the main service you would get if you called and said you needed a basic inspection, with no special circumstances like detached buildings, pool, etc.…
This might leave you wondering what is included in your general inspection and how any add-ons affect the pricing. A general inspection will include our expert inspectors looking at the quality, workmanship, and structure of your roof, the foundation, the walls, your electrical panel, heating and cooling systems, and electrical units. We check to make sure your appliances are heating and cooling properly, if applicable- the water pressure and temperature.
This is the most common inspection type that most clients obtain if they are not worried about anything specifically like termites, or mold. It takes approximately 3.5-4 hours. Preview a sample residential general inspection here.
If you have any questions about what’s included in a general inspection or need a quote- call us! We don’t work traditional 9-5 business hours, and are happy to get you scheduled and answer your questions.
General Inspections
A Commercial Inspection varies from Residential because the type of building, size, and the components in which they’ve been constructed and/or is operating is often different than residential. Much like a general home inspection, the purpose of a commercial inspection is to provide as much information as possible about the safety and state of building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, roofing, windows and doors, and any other component or attached system.
A commercial inspection could apply to the following:
Church buildings, office Spaces, restaurants, storage, multi-dwelling units, hotels and lodging. We know that each commercial property is unique and encourage you to call us to discuss the special details about your commercial inspection.
Commercial Inspections
Limited Scope Inspections can be the perfect choice for our clients to save time and money.
Compared to our General Inspections, these services are “limited” because they are specific to one specific thing and therefore cost less.
We suggest these services to our clients who are already familiar with the aspects of home inspections and notice specific signs they want evaluated. We want to ensure all of our clients get the full value of the service they pay for, which is why having a Limited Scope Inspection is the best option for some families.
The most common elements our clients choose for a limited scope inspection are:
Structural Inspection: Foundation, Structural Framing/Construction and Load Bearing Members
Mechanical: HVAC or Plumbing Systems
Electrical: Panels, Grounding, Service Entrance, Wiring and Receptacles
Roofing/Exterior: Roof, Siding, Gutter, Trim, Veneer, Exterior Windows and Doors
Limited Scope Inspections
Our five-star home inspection focuses solely on five areas- Structural, Roof, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electric- nothing else. It takes about 2 hours depending on the size of the structure, and therefore costs less than a general inspection.
